CORPORATE HISTORY:1956-2006 A SUCCESS STORY:HEKTAŞ HEKTAŞ is one of the oldest companies in the agricultural chemicals industry in Turkey which has been continuously manufacturing agricultural chemicals since its foundation. OYAK participated in HEKTAŞ in 1963 and has been the major shareholder since 1981. HEKTAŞ has been a public company since 1981. HEKTAŞ was founded in Adana. The company moved its administrative offices to İstanbul Karaköy after the foundation. HEKTAŞ moved its Headquarters to Gebze Organized Industry Zone in January 2002 in order to improve the synergy among the production, warehouse and shipping departments. HEKTAŞ founded its first plant in Cevizli/ Kartal in 1961. However, assuming the close vicinity to the residential areas and developing needs of our company, the construction of our plants in Gebze Organized Industry Zone (GOSB) has been started in 1990. In December 1991, the old plant has been discharged completely and moved to GOSB. HEKTAŞ has started the construction of a new plant in Şanlıurfa Organized Industry Zone in 1996. Our Şanlıurfa Plant commenced its production activities in March 1999 in order to meet the demand for pesticides in the region to occur after the completion of Southeastern Anatolia Project. HEKTAŞ, starting from the early years of its foundation, has established regional offices in several cities in order to distribute its products quickly and efficiently all through Turkey. Our company supplies agricultural chemicals to more than 2.000 dealers and distributes its products all over the country through its Regional Offices in seven cities which are Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, İzmir, Samsun and Şanlıurfa. HEKTAŞ has been marketing its products in the domestic market and also exporting especially to the Middle Eastern and Central Asian Countries. HEKTAŞ has a portfolio of pesticides that covers 270 products suitable for the flora and ecological structure of our country being one of the companies which have a wide range of product portfolio. HEKTAŞ lays a special emphasise on technological chemicals which are effective at low dosage and organic chemicals suitable for ecological agriculture while improving its portfolio. The research and development studies are vitally important while including new and technological chemicals to the product portfolio of HEKTAŞ. HEKTAŞ has distribution agreements with leading companies in the world and introduces wellknown and effective chemicals of these companies to the Turkish farmers. HEKTAŞ is the distributor of DU PONT, FMC, CHEMTURA, MAKTESHIM and AGRICHEM in Turkey, which are among the largest and leading companies in agricultural chemicals industry in the world. HEKTAŞ endeavours also to manufacture new formulations itself. "SC Formulated" chemicals have been included in our product portfolio in 2005. "SC Formulated" chemicals which are produced with water instead of petroleum are environment friendly and more effective because of their dispersion characteristics. HEKTAŞ decided to use its existing strong sales and distibution network and its reputation identified with its quality among Turkish farmers in Veterinary Pharmaceuticals industry. While the license studies in this field are still progressing, sales activities have been started since 2005. Among the activities of our company, chemicals related to agriculture and livestock has a crucial importance. HEKTAŞ holds the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Certificate since 1996. This certificate shows the system quality that HEKTAŞ has reached in design, production and plant stages. Our primary target is to adopt quality as a corporate culture and provide a continuous improvement in production, plant and service stages so as to move HEKTAŞ to the 21st century. HEKTAŞ, founded an environment friendly production system in its plants. With this respect, our company has undersigned the principle of "Responsible Care" in 1996. Responsible Care, which is the chemical industry's global voluntary initiative under which companies directly or indirectly communicate within the industry work together to continuously improve human health, safety and environmental performance is the understanding of our company within its traditional structure for many years. Within this respect, HEKTAŞ, has acquired the certificate of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in 2004. The basic reason for being the leader in the market for many years, as a company entirely formed by domestic capital, is the "confidence" of the client in HEKTAŞ. We owe this confidence to our product variety, product quality, service network and our care for the protection of the environment. |
