HEKTAŞ: AN INSTITUTION WITHIN THE TURKISH AGRICULTURE HEKTAŞ was established in 1956, with the joint savings of approximately 400 medical doctors, agricultural engineers, chemists and other engineers, for the production and marketing of medical pharmaceuticals. Since 1962, its main field of activity has been the production and marketing of agricultural chemicals and pesticides. Our Company has been expanded for 50 years since its foundation, being a pioneering company in its industry with a market share varying between 20 % -22 %. HEKTAŞ is a subsidiary of OYAK. The Turkish Armed Forces Pension Fund (OYAK), was established in 1961 to enable a safe future for the members of the Turkish Armed Forces. OYAK, which was established pursuant to the act No. 205, is incorporated as a private entity under its own law subject to Turkish civic and commercial codes. OYAK, with its 30 subsidiaries in several sectors is one of the most important players of the Turkish Economy. Hektaş participated in OYAK in 1963 and became its major shareholder in 1981. The Head Office of HEKTAŞ is located in Gebze Organized Industry Zone. Our company supplies agricultural chemicals and pesticides to more than 2,000 dealers and distributes its products all over the country, through its Regional Offices in seven cities. The production is in our factories in Gebze Organized Industry Zone and Şanlıurfa Organized Industry Zone. HEKTAŞ is the distributor of DUPONT, FMC, CHEMTURA, MAKTESHIM, SIPCAM and AGRICHEM (Australia) in Turkey, which are among the leading companies in the agricultural chemicals industry in the world. HEKTAŞ has a wide range of portfolio that covers approximately 270 products. Among these are the insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and others (leaf fertilizers, domestic insecticides, veterinary medicinal products, growth regulators, fumigants). Besides, HEKTAŞ manufactures products suitable for organic agriculture. Moreover, our efforts to expand our veterinary medicinal products portfolio are still going on. Since 2005 we have reached to 22 products including antibacterials, antiparasiticides, vitamins, hormones, antimycotics and antiinflamatory drugs. HEKTAŞ has been marketing its products mainly in the domestic market. Its main export markets are Middle Eastern and Central Asian Countries, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Balkan Countries. 227 employees work at the Head Office and Regional Offices of HEKTAŞ. |
